Information for Applicants

The BOOST application is now closed. 

Students in specific majors were invited to apply in early November 2024. We will be sure to let eligible LACCD students know of any future BOOST opportunities.

Thank you for applying to the BOOST program. 

All eligible applicants who applied by the deadline were placed into a lottery, managed by the Center for Guaranteed Income Research at University of Pennsylvania.

As of December 5, 2024, all applicants who were selected, at random, to receive the $1,000 monthly payments have now been notified and completed enrollment into the program. No additional participants will be added. 

Beginning on December 6, 2024, all other applicants will be notified of their status by the Center for Guaranteed Income Research at University of Pennsylvania.  This includes those who will be invited to join the Control group. Students assigned to the Control group will not receive a guaranteed income through the program. People assigned to the Control group will be invited to participate in paid research activities, including surveys and interviews. 

Please be on the lookout for notification via email, text, and/or mail. Notifications will be sent by the Center for Guaranteed Income Research at University of Pennsylvania to the contact information provided on the application.
